Our Vision and Mission

Our vision: We are a family of believers, committed to:
Relevant worship centered in Jesus Christ;
The building of relationships that reflect His love for us;
Instruction and nurture rooted in the Word of God;
The responsible use of the resources entrusted to us; and
The joyful proclamation of the Gospel, that God may be glorified and His family expanded, locally and around the world. And because of what this family has meant to us, we commit ourselves to a life of decisive action and aggressive love.
Our mission: We worship; we pray; we share our faith; we study; we give.
WE WORSHIP by regularly participating in the corporate fellowship of the church (Heb. 10:24-25)-responding to God's presence (Deut. 6:4-9), communing with Jesus Christ (I Cor. 11:23-26), and uniting with the Holy Spirit (Eph. 6:10-18).
WE PRAY in order to build relationships by sharing one another's joys, growth, and needs (Acts 2:42-45; Eph. 4:29-32).

WE SHARE OUR FAITH, proclaiming the Word through evangelism (Mark 1:17), discipling (Matt. 28:19-20), and serving the community and society (Gal. 6:9-10).
WE STUDY in order to nurture our faith through study and application of the Bible and Christian principles (II Tim. 3:16-17, Rom. 12:2), seeking to become mature believers who reflect the character of Christ (Eph. 4:12-16).
WE GIVE, seeking to use our resources to meet each other's needs (Matt. 24:34-40), develop and use the gifts of the Spirit (Rom. 12:3-8), and put our material blessings to work for God (Luke 21:1-4).

As we have received Jesus Christ through faith by grace, our vision for Libertyville Covenant Church calls us to respond by putting God's Word to work in our lives. In all these ways, we seek to serve God by growing in faith and welcoming others to grow with us.
