In appreciation

Dear LCC Family,
Rose and I want to thank you for the multiple expressions of love and support during these past few weeks. Even though my father, Jack Dowell, was 88 years old, his illness and death was rather sudden and unexpected. The beautiful flowers, the cards, the phones calls and the understanding comments in the narthex are all comforting and much appreciated. My Father lived a full and vibrant 88 years. He raised his children in the Church. His life was a wonderful example of what it means to live life as a servant of God in service to his fellow Man. We are planning a celebration of Dad's life this Spring in the Detroit, Michigan, area.
We thank you for your sincere caring and your thoughtfulness. --Paul and Rose Dowell

I just wanted to send a thank you to the church and to Pastor Dwight for coming to see us. I know that it was a long ride, but we so appreciated it. Thank you too for the fruit basket. We have enjoyed it, and it became a part of our Christmas Eve "buffet" when my parents were here. Rich is making progress way ahead of what the doctor thought he would. We know it is from all the prayers that have been said on our behalf. THANK YOU. --Lisa Kindstrom

Thank you for your many expressions of kindness, and for the Christmas gift given to each of us. We are thankful for the privilege of serving among you. God bless you in the New Year.
The Church Staff - Dwight, Marti, Brian, Maria, Chuck, Linda, Kris, Ann, Tim, Dan, and Ron

MOM to MOM: Childcare helpers are needed for the toddlers on January 27, February 24, March 9 & 23, April 27, and May 11. Please contact Karin Anderson if you are able to help on any or all of those mornings from 9-11 a.m.

Winchester House worship: We continue to conduct monthly Sunday afternoon worship services at Winchester House. Our church is responsible for a service at 2:30 p.m. on the first Sunday of every month, and we need singers, musicians, readers, preachers, and greeters. Please contact Pastor Chuck if you would like to participate on the Winchester House team; the next service is Sunday, February 5.

Fireside Dinner Fellowship: Seniors and friends are invited to our January event, a catered dinner and program at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12. Cost is $12.50 per person. After we enjoy a wonderful catered dinner by Catered Productions, Barbara Shafer, who is working with the Sunday morning worship services at Condell Hospital, will provide a fascinating first-person narrative of the Bible character Miriam, "Trusting God." It is a great perspective for the new year! Sign up at the information desk.

Church directory: Please let the church office know of any address changes—particularly for your current or recently graduated college students. We also are accepting new family pictures at any time or are willing to take a family picture for you if you would like to update your listing in the directory; Dan Frost is available most Sunday mornings to take an updated picture. Please include email addresses & phone numbers. You can either leave them on the desk in the church office or email them to MartiJA54@aol.com. Thank you.
