Meet the Staff

Our senior pastor, Rev. Dwight Nelson, began his ministry with us Aug. 1, 2002, after serving at Bethany Covenant Church in Mt. Vernon, Washington, since 1978. A graduate of North Park College, he received his master of divinity degree from Yale Divinity School in 1975. His wife Kathy is a surgical nurse. |

Brian Zahasky, our associate pastor, also directs our youth ministry. A 2001 graduate of North Park University, Brian received his Master of Divinity degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. In addition, Brian has more than five years of experience at Covenant and Free Church Bible camps, and in 2004 led LCC's youth on an extended mission trip to Mexico. Brian and his wife Maria, our director of children's ministry, live in Gurnee. |

Maria Zahasky began serving as our Director of Children's Ministry in July, 2005. Maria holds a degree in Christian Education from Trinity International University and was actively involved in the children's ministry at LCC for the previous two years. |

Rev. Chuck Johnson began serving as our Minister to Senior Adults in February, 2008. Chuck served a number of Covenant churches in Iowa and Minnesota before retiring to Grayslake with his wife Vonnie in 2006. |
